NEW Notifications Feature
The purpose of the EPR Notifications feature is to provide a better method of bringing lab results and radiology
reports to the attention of the provider who ordered them. A new screen has been added in EPR to display a Notification List
of recently resulted lab tests and radiology reports ordered by a specified provider. The List will serve as a reminder of lab
results and radiology reports. The list will remain in the system and may be reviewed by all EPR users until removed by the provider
who ordered the tests. All users of EPR have access to view Notifications of recent Lab results
and Radiology reports ordered by any provider.

Accessing Notifications
There are three available methods to access the Notifications
screen.
- Click the Notifications Icon on the button bar.
- OR, select the Notifications Menu bar option.

- OR, press the F2 key to open the Quick Jump form.
- Type "NOT" in the Function field.
- Click the GO (Enter) button or press Enter.

Viewing Notifications
There are different initial views of the Notifications
screen for users of EPR who are providers and those who are not.
- For providers, the List will be populated, upon intitial view, with Lab and Radiology Results
Notifications you ordered within the defaulted From and To date range. You may modify any of the form values (Notifications Type, From Date, To Date) and click the Search button to view other Notifications on your List. Providers will have the option to remove Notifications from their own list, but not from other providers' lists.
To view Notifications for another provider, follow the steps under "For all other users".

- For all other users,
the List will not be populated upon initial view. Use the following steps to view Notifications for a provider. NOTE: No user may remove Notifications from another provider's List; whether they are a non-provider user, or a provider viewing another provider's List.
- Type the provider's Name, or Code, in the "Notifications For" field.
- Select a Notifications Type.
- Select a From and To date.
- Click the Search button.

Viewing Results
To view the associated result for any Notification on the List, double-click any Notification row, or just press Enter for any Notification row that is highlighted.
- The Lab Results Test Matrix or Radiology List screen will be displayed, depending upon the type of Notification selected. The user will not be directed to the
specific, individual result, but to the patient's list of results where the user may elect to view the specific result. Often, users must see the result in the
context of other results in order to make decisions.

Removing Notifications (Providers Only)
ONLY PROVIDERS may remove Notifications from THEIR OWN List. No user may remove Notifications from any other user's List.
- The List’s
Check All column contains a check box for each notification on the List that, when checked, marks the individual notification as eligible
to be removed from the list. Only Notifications that are checked may be removed from the List. Notifications may be checked and removed as follows.
- A single Notification may be manually checked if the user clicks the check box, or automatically checked if the user double-clicked that Notification to view its associated results. Clicking the check box again will un-check the Notification.
- The user may also click the Check All column header, which acts like a toggle, to check all boxes and mark all notification on the List as eligible to be removed; at which point the header changes to Clear All. If the user clicks the Clear All column header, all boxes are unchecked and all notification on the List are ineligible for removal; at which point the header reverts back to Check All.
- The user may also use standard Microsoft Windows multiple selection techniques, using the Shift and/or the Ctrl keys, to select and highlight multiple rows, or notifications, on the grid. Once the multiple notifications are selected and highlighted, the user may right-click the mouse to be presented with a popup menu where they can then click “Check Selected” or “Clear Selected”. All the notifications selected by the user will then be checked or un-checked according to their choice made on the popup menu .
- The Remove Checked button may be clicked to remove any notifications from the List with check boxes checked.
- Following is a Notifications screen with the above mentioned features circled in red.
