    2. Health Maintenance

Additions were made to the Health Maintenance Immunization function to bring EPR into compliance with the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NCVIA). The NCVIA requires that all health care providers who administer a vaccine provide a copy of the CDC-developed Vaccine Information Statement (VIS) prior to the administration of each dose of the vaccine. Additionally, health care providers must make a notation in each patient’s permanent medical record at the time VIS is provided indicating the edition date of the VIS document and the date the document was provided.

The Lot # box was enlarged to accept 25 characters.

Updates were made to the EPR version of the Maryland Immunization Certificate (MIC) to bring it up to date with the current Maryland Department of Health, Epidemiology and Disease Control Program. This includes immunization dates for Pneumo (PCV7), Hepatitis A, and the history of Varicella disease; plus a few small design modifications.
